Model of the Month (MoM) August 2008 - Bar Refaeli:
We have a new idea to have a Model of the Month (MoM) category and after much discussion over lunch yesterday, we have decided to award Bar Refaeli as our August 2008 MoM. We have seen her previously on Victoria’s Secret catalog but what really caught our attention this month was her work with casual wear label FOX with her unique Italian-Scandinavian-Mediterranean blend of looks. Just a little more about her thanks to Wikipedia, Bar evaded Israeli military service when she was 18 and was criticised choosing her young modelling career even though she stated that she really wanted to serve in the IDF (Israeli Defence Force). Thankfully the issue has been resolved in which the Bar would visit injured IDF soldiers on visits to Israel and encourage enlistment in the army. How cool was that?! More pictures of Bar to share below.
Mobile majors get smart to woo premium segment
By now, geeks have globally dissected the iPhone to be an unimpressive phone with unmatched browsing and touch-screen capabilities. But does Apple or, for that matter, any of its smart(phone) cousins, spare a care for voice traffic anymore?
Be it Nokia, Sony Ericsson, HTC, RIM, Siemens, LG - you name it, they are all focused on the 'Indian panache' for data services. And as 3G becomes a reality, they would have moved way beyond data to the multimedia magic. The case is ditto for the carriers. Therefore, the telcos seem to have more than one reason to put most of their eggs in the non-voice services basket.

Ram Gopal Varma to make Phoonk 2 :
"The idea to make a film on black magic came from a news channel. It keeps on showing various programmes on black magic. I watched various programmes on black magic and supernatural powers on the channel and approached Azam Khan with the concept. He liked it and the whole script was written," Varma told reporters.
Azam Khan's One More Thought Entertainment has produced the film.
Critics have panned the film, but Phoonk reportedly saw a good opening with 70 per cent collections. Thanks to pre-release publicity, it has been successful in drawing a considerable chunk of audience in the multiplexes. Varma celebrated the success of the film.

Box Office: Phoonk in success wave:
Mumbai Meri Jaan received only 20-30% collections in its opening weekend. But with the extremely encouraging reviews that the Film gained, it might show some rise in business with a strong positive word of mouth. Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam opened to as low as 15-20% collections, which proves that Mallika Sherawat can't overshadow a senseless script.

Sri Lankan cricketers land Bollywood roles:
Scenes for "Victory," a story of a small town boy who dreams of playing cricket for India, were shot in Colombo last week, with actor Harman Baweja playing against Sri Lanka's national team.
Sri Lankan stars Kumar Sangakkara, Muttiah Muralitharan and Sanath Jayasuriya were among those filmed at one of Colombo's oldest cricket venues, the Oval.
Also starring in the 10-million-dollar movie will be the Indian team, plus Australian paceman Brett Lee, England bowlers Sajid Mahmood and Simon Jones, and New Zealander Craig McMillan.
"The film combines what Indians love best - cricket, music and Bollywood movies," Sri Lankan producer Chandran Rutnam, who handled the Colombo leg of the shooting said.

Amitabh Bachchan opens diabetes charity in Britain:
Their last stop is London where they perform over the weekend to a packed house at the O2 arena with a capacity of 20,000. It was largely a Bachchan family affair with Aishwarya gushing about why it was so special for her.
"Doing it with the love of my life. Wonderful to have pa, my father in law and my mother in law with us. It's a real honour," said Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
"Getting to be very embarrassing. With your permission can I leave now," said Amitabh Bachchan.
The other stars who have on the Unforgettable tour with the Bachchans are Abhishek and Aishwarya's good friends Priety Zinta and Ritesh Deshmukh.
"Aishwarya really looked after me and pampered me, it is very cute," said Priety Zinta, actor.
"Mr Bachchan is so amazing on stage," said Ritesh Deshmukh. The last tour of this scale in Europe was Shah Rukh Khan's Temptation two months ago acknowledged as the most successful Bollywood showing overseas so far.
The London concert will probably decide whether the Bachchans have upstaged King Khan.

Hefty price tag spoils iPhone’s launch party:
At a Vodafone store in Connaught Place, Central Delhi, journalists outnumbered customers by a huge margin. Only about 15 customers turned up to buy the phone. The Airtel retail store nearby wore a deserted look on Friday afternoon, with not a single customer buying the iPhone. In Gurgaon, Airtel unveiled the iPhone at Sahara Mall.
Despite the frenzy, the D-day did not quite match the expectations with just about 35-40 people lining up to buy the coveted smartphone.

Mallika Sherawat plays the wife of Paresh Rawal in Maan Gaye Mughall E Azam:
When Maliika was asked how it felt to be chased by three men in the film. She was heard saying that it was a great feeling. In fact, it was very funny to see Paresh trying to protect his ‘Angan ki Tulsi’. To Which Paresh Rawal laughed and said, “Its good to have a young beautiful wife, but Mallika was a ‘Kantewali Tulsi’.”

A Nice Story about Love:
Once when we were sitting at the edge of a swimming pool, she filled the palm of her hand with some water and held it before me, and said this: "You see this water carefully contained on my hand? It symbolizes Love."
This was how I saw it: As long as you keep your hand caringly open and allow it to remain there, it will always be there. However, if you attempt to close your fingers round it and try to posses it, it will spill through the first cracks it finds.
This is the greatest mistake that people do when they meet love...they try to posses it, they demand, they expect... and just like the water spilling out of your hand, love will retrieve from you .
For love is meant to be free, you cannot change its nature. If there are people you love, allow them to be free beings.
Give and don't expect.
Advise, but don't order.
Ask, but never demand.
It might sound simple, but it is a lesson that may take a lifetime to truly practice. It is the secret to true love. To truly practice it, you must sincerely feel no expectations from those who you love, and yet an unconditional caring."
Passing thought... Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take; but by the moments that take our breath away.....
Life is beautiful!!! Live it !!!
